Famous for its elephant gathering, you are in for a treat when you enter the gates of the park to marvel at these majestic beasts roaming in herds in their natural habitat. The dry season attracts many elephants from the surrounding forests making it a feeding ground due to the abundant vegetation and water within the borders of the Minneriya Tank. The park is also an important birding site in the island with many species of birds making it perfect for bird watching enthusiasts too. Many mammals, butterflies, amphibians, reptiles and fish are found here as well. The park consists of wetlands, grasslands, chena lands which have been abandoned, scrub lands, forests and rocky outcrops.

The entrance ticket to the Minneriya National Park acts as a valid pass to enter the gates of the park while booking this through us prior to your visit will be convenient for you. The physical ticket can be obtained from Lakpura or we can make arrangements to deliver it to you.
