Dambadeniya Vijayasundararamaya was the royal temple of the Dambadeniya kingdom period.Temple is located about 500 m from the Kurunegala – Negombo main road at Dambadeniya town.

Dambadeniya Vijayasundararamaya temple is still functioning as one of the main temples of the area. The old temple of the tooth and the vatadage are the main ancient monuments in this location.

History
According to the history this temple has been constructed by king Vijayabahu II who was the first king of the Dambadeniya kingdom. The temple and the king’s palace which was on the Maliga Gala were closely located.

The wooden building of the ancient temple of the tooth and the frescoes are very attractive for the people who love history.
